On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, signed an MoU with India’s only private Liver Institute to amplify the expertise offered through better service. The MoU was signed with Dr. Tom Cherian from the South Asian Liver Institute, Hyderabad, with Dr. Sudhakar Kantipudi, Hospital Director – Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, in the presence of Mr. Dilip Jose, MD & CEO, Manipal Hospitals, Mr. Karthik Rajagopal, COO, Manipal Hospitals, and Shri VVS Laxman, Former Indian Cricketer and Head of NCA.
Started in 2016, Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, has successfully completed a total of 40 liver transplants. Out of these, 35 were cadaver transplants and 5 were live transplants out of which three were pediatric cases. Now, with Dr. Tom Cherian coming on board with his team, they will together do higher number of liver transplants in order to efficiently serve people.
Speaking about this, Dr. Tom Cherian said, “I am glad to sign up with the second largest multi speciality healthcare chain in India in serving people on a larger scale. Coming on board with Manipal Hospitals gave us the opportunity to take a step forward and synergize our medical expertise in liver care and deliver the best of treatments to the society.
