Pancreas CancerTreatment
Our Approach

Specialist HPB Surgery
for Pancreatic Disease

Pancreatic cancer and other pancreatic tumours require a specialist HPB (hepato-pancreato-biliary) surgeon with high-volume experience. Whipple's procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) is one of the most complex abdominal operations performed — outcomes are directly related to the surgeon's experience and the centre's volume. SALi's team brings international-level HPB training to every case.

Whipple's procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) for head of pancreas tumours
Distal pancreatectomy with or without splenectomy for body/tail tumours
Total pancreatectomy for diffuse disease or familial pancreatic cancer
Vascular resection and reconstruction for borderline resectable disease
Laparoscopic and minimally invasive approaches for suitable cases
Coordination of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy

What We Offer

Our Approach to Pancreas Cancer Treatment

Whipple's Procedure
We perform Whipple's procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) for cancers of the head of pancreas, ampulla, and distal bile duct — one of surgery's most demanding operations.
Distal Pancreatectomy
For tumours of the body and tail of the pancreas, we perform distal pancreatectomy — laparoscopically where possible for faster recovery.
Borderline Resectable Disease
We evaluate and manage borderline resectable pancreatic cancer — including vascular involvement — using a combination of neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery.
Cystic Pancreatic Tumours
Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN), serous and mucinous cystadenomas — expert assessment of malignant potential and surgical management when required.
Palliative Surgery
For unresectable disease, we perform gastrojejunostomy and hepaticojejunostomy bypass procedures to relieve obstruction and improve quality of life.
Oncology Coordination
We work closely with medical oncologists for neoadjuvant (before surgery) and adjuvant (after surgery) chemotherapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
