Liver Cancer
Treatment

HCC, cholangiocarcinoma and rare liver cancers — surgical, ablative and interventional treatments. Less than 5% incomplete resection rate.

Our Approach

Complex Liver Cancers
That Others Cannot Remove

Our experience with liver transplantation — where we routinely work with complex liver anatomy — allows us to resect liver cancers that most other centres cannot attempt. Our pre-surgical evaluation is so thorough that we rarely need to change decisions mid-operation. Less than 5% of our liver cancer resections are incomplete — one of the best rates in India.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) — surgical resection, ablation and transplantation
Cholangiocarcinoma — including complex hilar and intrahepatic tumours
Colorectal liver metastases — staged or simultaneous resection
Gallbladder cancer with liver involvement — radical cholecystectomy + hepatectomy
Multidisciplinary tumour board review of every case before treatment
Post-resection surveillance programme to detect recurrence early

What We Offer

Our Approach to Liver Cancer Treatment

Transplantation for HCC
Hepatocellular carcinoma within Milan Criteria is best treated with transplantation — removing both tumour and diseased liver for the highest cure rate.
Complex Resection
Our surgical team routinely performs major hepatectomies, trisectionectomies, and resections involving the hepatic veins and inferior vena cava.
Ablation Therapy
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation for small HCC nodules in patients unsuitable for resection — curative intent, minimal invasiveness.
Tumour Board Review
Every liver cancer case is reviewed by our full multidisciplinary team — hepatologist, transplant surgeon, oncologist and radiologist — before any treatment decision.
98% Resection Rate
Less than 5% of our liver cancer operations require incomplete resection or early closure — a benchmark that matches international top-tier centres.
Post-Treatment Surveillance
After resection or ablation, all patients are enrolled in a structured surveillance programme — CT/MRI and AFP at regular intervals to detect any recurrence.
