Minimally Invasive

Interventional
Treatment

Radiofrequency ablation, TACE, TIPS and other minimally invasive procedures for patients where surgery is not the right option.

InterventionalTreatment
What We Offer

Targeted Treatments
Without Open Surgery

Not every liver condition requires open surgery. Interventional radiology and endovascular techniques allow us to treat liver tumours, manage portal hypertension, and provide biliary drainage — with minimal invasiveness and faster recovery. At SALi, our interventional procedures are performed by specialists who also perform open liver surgery, giving them a unique understanding of the anatomy and clinical context.

Transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE) for HCC — targeted chemotherapy to the tumour
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation for small liver tumours
TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) for refractory ascites and variceal bleeding
Percutaneous biliary drainage and stenting for biliary obstruction
Portal vein embolisation before major liver resection
Image-guided biopsy for definitive diagnosis

What We Offer

Our Approach to Interventional Treatment

TACE
Transarterial chemoembolisation delivers concentrated chemotherapy directly to the liver tumour's blood supply — maximising effect while limiting systemic toxicity.
RFA / MWA
Radiofrequency and microwave ablation destroy liver tumours with heat via a needle — effective for small HCC nodules, with curative intent for eligible patients.
TIPS Procedure
Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) reduces portal hypertension — managing refractory ascites and preventing recurrent variceal bleeding.
Biliary Stenting
Percutaneous or endoscopic biliary stenting relieves jaundice caused by bile duct obstruction — from stones, tumours, or strictures — without open surgery.
Portal Vein Embolisation
Before major liver resection, we embolise the portal vein to the diseased side — stimulating hypertrophy of the future liver remnant and making surgery safer.
Image-Guided Biopsy
Ultrasound or CT-guided liver biopsy provides definitive histological diagnosis — essential before starting treatment for liver tumours or parenchymal disease.
